AVOLTA -Don Julio x Pacha DJ game Ibiza
Overview:
Avolta (t/a Dufry) is a global travel retailer that operates duty-free and duty-paid shops and convenience stores in airports, on cruise lines, at seaports, railway stations, and in central tourist areas. Avolta has operations in 76,000 locations across 73 countries worldwide.
Concept:
Avolta is re-launching their loyalty app and wants to drive customers to download it to gain rewards and receive additional offers and discounts. The Global Entertainment team wanted to create a memorable activation experience to support this in one of their locations.
Implementation:
We created an exciting bespoke game that suited both Ibiza airport and its’ typical traveller. Players can live out their Ibiza DJing fantasy by using DJ decks to navigate through the game, using the fader and spin decks in time with the beat of the music track. Avolta engaged with Don Julio and Pacha to be the initial brand sponsors for the game and attract customers.
By playing the game, customers are given a score and receive a discount on certain products in the duty-free if they download the app via the game’s QR code.
We worked with Avolta to design and build a custom DJ booth for the game to ensure it was in a prime location for maximum impact and engagement. We created visuals and sound for both in-game play and idle states to attract passers by
Impact:
This game was built to stand the test of time; we’re able to refresh the game with different promotions and brands.
We’re also working with Avolta to roll this campaign out at multiple airports. We will create games for each location based on seasons and tourist attractions.
